Nobel Nuttiness

What with Al Gore winning the Nobel Peace Peace Prize for engaging in the scam of global warming alarmism, and Barack Obama winning the same award for engaging in the scam of Keynesian "stimulus" spending, it appears that the Nobel committee's policy is to bestow this dubious honor on Americans with stupid ideas.

Why isn't the rest of the world outraged?

Obama assured us it would not go higher than 8%.

The stimulus is not working.
But it was never going to work.

There is currently no end in sight.
What a shock.

End the stimulus.
Get government out of private enterprise.
Watch prosperity ensue.

Moore Idiotic Than Most

Propagandist Michael Moore complains that "Capitalism never did anything for me."

Thus displaying in one simple sentence his complete ignorance of both Capitalism in particular and economics in general.

For it was precisely capitalism that allowed him to rise from his "working class" origins to the very pinnacle of fame.

It happened like this: here was an obscure nobody who because he lives in a country which operates under a (relatively) free economic system was able to not only pursue, but to achieve, his dream.
Michael Moore, when he started out, was not politically connected, nor did he have the advantage of a wealthy backer, and yet was able to harass a captain of industry unmolested, film it, then sell it to a free audience.
This process made him rich.

If anyone invested in Mr Moore's enterprise it was because they were free to do so and believed it would be good investment.
If anyone did not invest, it was not because they were prohibited to do so by the state.

As we see, Michael Moore is a capitalist. And a successful one at that!

Oh, The Vanity!

So, Obama thought the mesmeric power of his mere presence would bring the 2016 Olympic Games to Chicago.

The 2016 Olympic Games will be in Rio.

Is Sarah Palin A Libertarian?

That's the question being bandied about after her speech in Hong Kong.

And it would, indeed, be good news. After all, the more libertarians the better.

But I would remind freedom lovers everywhere: Mrs Palin ran happily with a man who proposed "buying all those bad mortgages."

So, we'll take a wait and see attitude.

Jimmy Carter: Still A Useless Idiot

Jimmy Carter, the president responsible for the creation of the Misery Index, is still at it.

Seems he can now read minds.

Hence his determining that Joe Wilson is a racist because he yelled, "You lie," at Barack Obama.

Or maybe it's just the aliens talking to Carter.

No one can claim a right to anything which results in the coercion of another.
