Jumping To Conclusions

Barack Obama warns us against jumping to conclusions about the motive of the Fort Hood murderer.

Um, yeah, like he didn't jump to the conclusion that the cop was "stupid" for arresting one of his old communist buddies.

Whatever, Barack.

Remember, the stimulus was going to prevent that figure from going over 8%.

The rate of increase will not abate any time soon.

At least not until an end is put to all this wasteful government spending.

The Emperor Has No Coattails

Barack Obama campaigned for the Democrat candidates in Virginia and New Jersey.

Those candidates lost to their Republican opponents.

I'd be careful about hitching my wagon to the Obama star.

It gets a bit dimmer with each passing day.

Take That, GOP!

In case you missed it: the Republican Party supported-with money!-the liberal candidate; telling the conservative candidate to take a hike.

The conservative candidate did not take said hike.
He, instead, ran as a conservative.

When the liberal Republican saw her chances of winning dwindle to nothing, she withdrew and threw her support behind...the Democrat.

The Republican Party needs to get its head...on straight.

Doug Hoffman Is Not A Republican. Why?

The Republican Party has a problem.
Actually, they have had this problem for quite a while.
But it could not be better exemplified than in the congressional race in New York where the conservative is, well, a Conservative, and the liberal is...a Republican.

The Republican Party establishment has supported the liberal, leaving Mr Hoffman to twist in the wind, on his own.

Mr Hoffman stands a good chance of winning the contest.

The question begged: when will Republicans learn?

Conservatives must run as conservatives, not as some hybrid vote-chaser. See under: John McCain.

Republicans must either get as serious about their conservatism as Democrats are about their socialism or they will always be a minority party.
Newt Gingrich is wrong.
The Republican Party will either win or lose based on beliefs and principles, or they will cease to matter at all.

The opposite of socialism isn't compromise, it's rebellion.

Republicans had better get serious about the defending the free market.

Republicans had better get serious about what they profess to believe in.

Because something tells me there are other Doug Hoffmans out there.

GDP Number Is A False Positive.

The government announced that GDP grew by 3.5% in the 3rd quarter of 2009.
Yet unemployment continues to grow at the same time.
So, is the key to economic growth putting more and more people out of work?

Of course not.

Cash for Clunkers accounts for a portion of this increase, as does other government spending.

Think of it this way: imagine you produce a product and lose money every time you sell a unit of this product. So, to avoid going out of business you borrow more and more money and go deeper and deeper into debt. But your numbers look good as you produce more and more. Soon you will be able to borrow no more money. Nor will you be able to pay your benefactors. Everybody will be poorer for your futile effort.

This is the American economy today.
This is a false economy.
This is not the beginning of a recovery.
The worst is yet to come.

Stimulus Nonsense

The socialist White House and the media-the legitimate one, that is, not Fox News-are in a bit of a battle over how many "jobs" have been "saved or created" by the "stimulus."

Here's how it works: the media that guy being paid to dig a hole, then refill it equals 1 job, saved or created.
The socialist White House says, "Yeah, but the guy digging that hole had lunch at a local restaurant and saved the waitress's job.So that's two jobs!"

The actual number is close to 0.

Here's how it actually works: the government takes money from those who could create actual jobs, those that add something of value to society, and pays that guy to dig holes and then refill them.
Nothing of value has been created.

Think of it this way: if I took 3/4 of your income and paid 3 guys to dig up your front yard, have I really created any jobs at all?

In fact, I have probably destroyed an even greater of jobs, as you no longer have that money to spend and invest and actually grow the economy.
