The Kanamit said, "It is only by understanding how we arrived at this moment that we'll be able to lift ourselves out of this predicament."
-He's right, we do need to understand how we got here.
But does he?
His version of how we got here: "Regulations were gutted for the sake of a quick profit at the expense of a healthy market."
-So, no, he doesn't know how we got here.
But that's not stopping him from forming an agenda to get us of out of here.
"It's an agenda that begins with jobs."
-Hmph. Let's be clear: Socialism begins with jobs. Capitalism begins with production.
Oh, and he's got an explanation for the Stealulus Plan: "A failure to act would have worsened our long-term deficit by assuring weak economic growth for years."
-Actually, a failure to act would have led to a quicker recovery, and, you know, kept the cost way down.
And by "act", he means "spend your money." But don't worry: "We have created a new website called recovery.gov so that every American can find out how and where their money is being spent."
-Is he kidding!? I need to go to a website to find out how my money is being spent!?
To remove any lingering doubt that he's a socialist, he summed up: "I reject the view that says our problems will simply take care of themselves."
-That's unfortunate; because that would be the unfettered free market at work.
But the Kanamit doesn't believe in the free market.
He said so.
